Overview

Restoran Pokok Sena, located on Jalan SP 4/27 in Bandar Saujana Putra, Selangor, offers a hearty dive into traditional Malay cuisine with a welcoming kampung flair. This humble eatery specializes in classic dishes that highlight rich local flavors—ranging from Nasi Campur and Talapia Bakar to Masak Lemak and Ikan Percik. Each plate tells a story of authentic Malay cooking, capturing the essence of homely spices and fresh ingredients.

As you settle in, expect a bustling environment where the aroma of grilled fish and chicken mingles with the earthy scent of ulam ulaman and fresh kerabu salads. The space takes on a casual, no-frills approach with a self-service system where meals are served on trays. This efficient setup suits the busy lunchtime crowd, especially locals seeking a quick yet satisfying meal. While the ventilation struggles slightly—allowing the smoky fragrance of the outdoor grilling area to drift indoors—this only adds to the rustic charm of the dining experience.

The menu shows versatility, starting as early as 9am with breakfast options and expanding to a full lunch spread by 10am. Signature dishes such as Masak Merah and Gulai Kawah emphasize the robust, layered spices native to Malay kitchens, while freshly grilled Talapia and Ikan Bakar bring a smoky balance. The presence of various ulam and dipping sauces underscores the cultural importance of freshness and texture in Malaysian cuisine.

Restoran Pokok Sena appeals primarily to those who appreciate genuine Malay flavors in a straightforward setting—ideal for office workers, families, and food enthusiasts looking for affordable, hearty meals. Despite the simple setup, the quality and taste of the food consistently receive praise, complemented by prompt and friendly service. The takeaway: it’s a destination where the food’s authenticity takes center stage, making it a popular, bustling spot for those who want to experience a true kampung dining ritual within the confines of Selangor’s growing townships.

One word of advice regarding the drinks: they tend to be on the sweeter side, so many patrons recommend balancing the sweetness with the complimentary plain water provided. This small tip can significantly enhance your overall dining satisfaction.

As early as 10 am, you can have your lunch here. Many choices of local food, grilled chicken & fish with ulam available here. Food served in a tray & self service. Bad ventilation as the smoke from the grill.section outside will travel inside the shop & the smell lingers in the air. Payment method accept cash & e wallet. Comes esrly to avoid dissapoinment.

The most heated place for lunch in bandar saujana putra. Lunch servings starts at 1100 am until finished. Normally closes at 4, but foods seems to be sold out by 2.30. has a mix of malaysian thai foods, a vast variety of ulam and dipping sauce. Price wise is subjective. Different person different pricing. Normally the lady would be pricier compared to the skinny abang. Overall, food is great, taste is superb, and services are good. Recommended to come

This place has various buffet style Malay dishes. Somewhat crowded during lunch and most food finished before lunch time is over.
